How to clean chalk boards
How to Clean Your Chalkboard
For Regular Chalk
-
Wipe Off the Chalk
Use a soft, dry cloth or traditional chalkboard eraser to remove as much chalk as possible. -
Dampen and Wipe
Lightly moisten a clean cloth with water (a little vinegar can help if buildup remains). Wipe the board in circular motions. -
Dry Completely
Use a dry towel to remove all moisture. Let the board air-dry for a few minutes before writing again.
For Chalk Markers
-
Erase the Marker
Use a damp cloth or paper towel to wipe away fresh writing. For older or stubborn marks, spray a small amount of water or gentle cleaner like Windex onto the area. -
Clean the Surface
Wipe evenly until all residue is gone. Avoid soaking the surface—too much liquid can damage the finish. If you have stubborn stains, try Windex and Magic Eraser. -
Dry Before Use
Let the board dry completely to prevent ghosting or streaks.
Tip:
Regular cleaning keeps your chalkboard looking sharp and makes writing easier every time.
